Geospatial Educational Services

The Company has leveraged its strong Geo-spatial Knowledge, Engineering and CAD background to offer Multifaceted Services for training in Geospatial Technology under the name of "Geospatial Academy of Technological Excellence" (GATE). It is a consortium of geospatial educators working together to promote Open Source Software usage in Geospatial Technology Education. Our goal is to increase the awareness and use of Free & Open Source Software for Geospatial (FOSS4G) applications. We believe that Open Source software provides the best value to both, the end-users as well as the learners.  Our Curriculum focuses on QGIS, GRASS, and Geoserver, Python and other Open Source tools.  The Geospatial Academy of Technological Excellence-GATE is not a Chartered School or College.  We do not offer College degrees sanctioned by higher education accrediting Agencies. Our Curriculum is meant for the syllabus in Engineering Colleges & other courses and meant to be used by Individuals who desire Geospatial Training.  Our Curriculum is designed to be used by the Educators in Engineering Colleges, Geography Colleges and courses which require the knowledge of Geospatial Technologies as part of their Academics.  The Geospatial Educational Services is  not an official project of OSGeo, the QGIS Project or OGC.

We are an independent initiative focused on providing open source GIS Education to anyone desiring to learn and understand the spatial technology as a part of an academic course, increasing the use of FOSS4G to solve societal geospatial challenges and improving our learner’s professional technological competency.

Robotics for kids

Robotics for kids is a hands-on and fun way for kids to learn STEM concepts by letting them make their own robots. Robotics is a branch of technology that deals with the making, programming, and designing of robots. To parents, the definition sounds too complicated and technical. Parents can barely imagine and see the benefit of letting their children tinker with any kind of robot kits for kids.

Most of us can’t really say that we have encountered this branch of science in our daily lives, apart from the several Terminator movies we’ve seen. We thought robotics is something that only engineers can do.

Despite this, we still need to refocus ourselves and remember one important point. Although we cannot wrap our heads around robotics and its inner workings, we shouldn’t deprive the generations after ours from understanding and experiencing this technology.

This is especially true today. Educators and toy companies have repackaged robotics into something fun and educational. It is up to the parents to grab the chance of introducing their kids to a technology that can now be taught in the most fun and engaging way.

In order for parents to guide their kids, they must also learn about robotics for kids. Here are a few things that we need to do:

  • Understand robot kits for kids better– why it is beneficial and why robot kits make good gifts for kids.
  • Learn why robot toys, games and apps are now considered as educational tools.
  • Know how to introduce their kids (beginners) to robotics.
  • Make good decisions in terms of choosing the right robot kits and toys for their children.

Hopefully, parents can all see how robot kits for kids affect their children’s development in a positive way. How about you, do you also consider introducing your kids to robotics?
